The accommodation

La Grange is one long building with the living area at one end and the two storey bedroom wing at the other end. It is spacious and full of character with exposed stonework and ancient beams. The bedrooms are all carpeted and the décor has been designed to reflect the character of the building. All the rooms have been furnished to an exceptionally high standard, combining a blend of antique and modern furniture.

The living area

The large beamed and partially stone flagged open plan living room with large picture windows serves as both a living and an inside eating area. The sitting area is furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs; a large screen satellite TV, providing access to English and French channels; and VHS, DVD and CD players. There is a good selection of games, holiday reading and toys for small children for guests’ use and enjoyment. A separate cloakroom leads off the living area.

The dining area has a table and chairs to seat 14 people and two high chairs can also be provided as required. The modern kitchen leads immediately off the dining area and contains a cooker, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave. It is fully equipped with crockery, cutlery, glasses, kitchenware, oven gloves and tea towels.

The bedrooms

The bedroom wing has sleeping accommodation for up to 14 people plus one or two babies. There are six bedrooms – four large double bedrooms and two twin bedrooms, arranged over two floors. All the bedrooms have their own en suite facilities and their own separate entrances to the central courtyard.

On the ground floor, there are two double bedrooms, both of which can easily accommodate an additional bed, and one twin bedroom.

On the upper floor there are two double bedrooms and the other twin bedroom, together with a small baby’s bedroom, complete with cot, bedding, changing table and baby monitoring alarm. An additional cot can be provided if required.

click to enlarge click to enlarge All the bedrooms are provided with the best quality white Egyptian cotton linen, large white bath towels and hand towels, all of which are included in the rental. The beds are made up for guests’ arrival and, for those staying more than one week, fresh bed linen and towels are provided for subsequent weeks, again inclusive in the rental price. Guests are, however, required to bring their own swimming towels and towels for the removal of sun tanning lotions and hair colorants.

Laundry and drying facilities, comprising washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, ironing board and airer, are situated in the utility room on the ground floor and a number of outdoor drying areas are also available,

Depending on the numbers in the party, one of the double bedrooms on the upper floor of the bedroom wing can be converted in to an attractive beamed sitting room, off which there is a separate kitchenette that is fully equipped with cooker, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, crockery, cutlery etc. As this floor is reached both by an outside staircase and through a separate entrance hall, it can be used as a separate one/two bedroom flat for 2/4 people outside the May/September letting season.
